The DriveCare platform is a comprehensive solution designed to provide parents with the ability to monitor and control their child's driving behavior. The platform offers a variety of features, including real-time information about the driver's behavior, location, and route, as well as the ability to set custom parameters such as maximum speed and driving radius.

Problem

the lack of control and visibility that parents have over their child's driving behavior, particularly for new drivers who may be more prone to reckless driving habits. Without proper monitoring and control, parents may worry about their child's safety on the road and may not have the ability to intervene in the event of dangerous driving behavior.

Solution

give parents peace of mind by providing them with real-time information about their child's driving behavior, such as speed, location, and route, and allowing them to set custom parameters for safe driving. By promoting safe driving habits and ensuring the safety of young drivers, the platform aims to alleviate the concerns and worries of parents.

User Research

I conducted a survey targeting parents who have children that are new drivers.
One of the primary questions in my survey was aimed at understanding the level of concern parents have when their child is driving.  Specifically, I asked parents to rate their level of worry on a scale of 1-10.
The survey results were quite surprising.
An overwhelming 63% of parents expressed a high level of concern, rating their worry at an 8 out of 10. This emphasizes the urgent need for a solution that addresses their worries and promotes safer driving practices for their children.
The results of the survey were alarming and reinforced the need for a solution to address the concerns of parents with young, new drivers. As a result, the idea to create a platform with monitoring and control features was born, aimed at providing parents with peace of mind and promoting safe driving habits among their children.

Sam has a lot of cars in his business and he wants to make sure that his drivers are using them responsibly and not engaging in reckless or unsafe driving behavior.
Pain Points
concerned about the safety of his drivers and other road users, as well as the potential legal and financial repercussions of accidents. Additionally, tracking fuel efficiency and promoting efficient vehicle usage are important for him to minimizing costs.
Goals
Sam wants to track the location and driving behavior of his drivers to ensure that they are following company policies and safety regulations. He wants to be able to monitor their speed, distance traveled, and driving patterns to prevent any reckless or dangerous behavior.

The design system was carefully crafted to prioritize safety and usability, with the use of bold and attention-grabbing hazard colors to ensure that users can quickly and easily identify potential risks and take appropriate action.

Status Bar

The status bar provides users with up-to-date information on the car's status, including the total distance of the current trip, average speed, and fuel consumption calculations. This allows users to stay informed about their child's driving behavior and make informed decisions to promote safe driving habits.

Driving Behavior

Obtain instant and accurate updates on the driving behavior of the current driver, encompassing crucial aspects such as acceleration, braking, overtakings, and average speed calculations. By providing real-time insights into these driving metrics, the platform empowers users to monitor and assess their driver's behavior on the road effectively.

Speed Monitor

The speed monitor feature provides the user with real-time information about their child's driving speed and also allows them to set a maximum speed limit to ensure safe driving.

Map

The map allows the user, who is typically a parent, to see the real-time location of their child who is driving the car. The user can set a radius limit for the car to operate within, as well as specific routes for the driver to take. If the driver goes outside of these parameters, the user will receive notifications alerting them of the violation.

Car Block

The car block feature allows the user to set a specific time period during which the car will be blocked from use. This can be particularly useful for parents who want to prevent their child from driving during certain hours, such as late at night or early in the morning. By setting the car block feature, the user can have peace of mind knowing that their child is not using the car when they shouldn't be.

Car Info

In the "Car Info" section, the user can access important details about the car's status, such as oil level, water level, tire pressure, and maintenance schedule. Additionally, the user can control the car's air conditioning remotely, and even track the car's cameras for added security and peace of mind.
